Employee Benefits

Today, employee benefits consist of both employer paid and employee paid products.
ABA Insurance Services, Inc., specializes in both. We have agents trained in various products depending on your needs. The following are the most common benefits available.

HELPFUL HINTS

˜  Always seek services from a network provider.

˜  Request generic drugs when available.

˜  Pre-certify hospital stays and certain procedures when required by  policy.

˜  Examine your Explanation of Benefits to verify benefits were paid according to your policy.

˜  Always show your ID card when requesting service. Claim payment is delayed with old or inaccurate insurance information.

Administrative Questions
We are dedicated to providing excellent client services and are always available to assist with any questions regarding the administration of group or voluntary plans.

Billing Issues
Questions regarding premium billings are common. We are here to answer them or get the answer for you. If necessary, we can assist in connecting you to the billing department of your particular carrier.

Claims Questions
Any questions your employees have regarding payment of a claim can be directed to our office. In some instances, the employee will need to talk directly to the insurance company, but our specialists can assist them.

Long Term Care
Long Term Care (nursing home coverage) is also available. As the average life expectancy increases, this type of coverage is becoming more popular due to the high cost of nursing home care. We can show you several different ways to provide solutions to this problem.

Cancer
With the increased emphasis on consumer driven health care, resulting in larger health insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, the need for Cancer policies has become even more evident. A Cancer policy offers a cash benefit in the event that cancer is diagnosed. We offer a variety of plans through top rated carriers.

Critical Illness
A Critical Illness policy provides a cash benefit for life threatening illnesses such as stroke and heart attack, in addition to cancer.

Accident
An Accident policy provides a cash benefit for covered injuries resulting from an accident.  The cash benefit is paid directly to the member and can be used toward the out-of pocket costs not paid by a medical policy, such as deductibles, co-insurance and co-payments.  As more employers turn to high deductible health plans (HDHP), this benefit will become more valuable to employees.  Accident benefits are offered on a voluntary basis, with no cost to you, as the employer.

Medical Indemnity
Medical Indemnity plans are used to supplement existing medical plans to help recover employee out-of-pocket expenses.  These types of plans are also useful for employers not offering traditional medical plans to their employees or class of employees.  These are particularly useful for industries with a large percentage of employees ineligible for coverage under the group medical plan because of part-time or seasonal status.  Examples include: restaurants, retail stores and seasonal businesses.  Medical Indemnity plans can be offered as employer paid or voluntary.

Benefit Communication Services
Employee benefit packages are a valuable tool in attracting and retaining qualified employees.  Benefits range from the traditional life and health benefits to the more creative incentive benefits such as bonuses, trips, car allowances and day care.  While these benefits are quite useful in attracting new employees, as time goes by, employees tend to lose perspective as to the true value of such benefits.  Our communication specialists can conduct personalized annual reviews with your employees to reinforce the true value of their Total Compensation.  As a value added benefit, we also provide personalized Total Compensation Statements, itemizing an employees total annual compensation, including their "hidden" fringe benefits.

ABA represents more than 50 carriers for these products. We focus on locally owned companies but have the ability to accommodate multi-state locations.

Medical
Our agents are qualified to work with any size group, no matter how small or large, fully insured or self-funded. With just a little information, we can design a benefit plan tailored to meet your needs.

Dental
Dental insurance coupled with a medical plan keeps your employees healthy, which increases productivity. A dental plan can be added to your benefits package, without additional cost to you as the employer.

Vision
As you know, healthy vision is an important part of an efficient workplace. In addition, having routine exams and the necessary vision aids ensures a safer workplace with fewer on-the-job injuries due to poor eye sight.  Vision benefits can be offered on a voluntary basis, with no cost to you as the employer.  However, offering vision benefits as an employer paid benefit is an inexpensive way of enhancing your current benefit package.

Life and AD & D
Life insurance can be issued on an employer paid basis, voluntary basis, or both. Many employers find offering a base life benefit with an option for the employees to voluntarily purchase additional life benefits to be the most rewarding. The ability to access a benefit sometimes not available on an individual basis increases the loyalty of employees.

Disability
Disability benefits help reduce the number of fraudulent worker's compensation claims in the workplace, by providing income replacement for employees temporarily disabled due to an accident or illness. This helps reduce the increasing cost of worker's compensation insurance. Our agents are experienced in designing a plan or combination of plans that would best fit your needs.  Disability can be offered as an employer paid benefit or a voluntary benefit.
